    My work group and I have created a virtual learning community related to the topic of our group work: the Solar System.

    This virtual learning community has been created in the app Instagram, an account named "@solarsystem_education"; this is the link: https://www.instagram.com/solarsystem_education/

    Instagram is a modern American app founded by Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger. It was released in October, 2010. This app is mainly used for uploading pictures and videos of short duration, but with the latest updates, you can also upload the so called Reels (videos that can last a minute as a maximum), IGTV videos (longer videos) or stories (temporal videos or pictures that last 24 hours).

    We chose this platform because we think that nowadays, it is one of the leading platforms in social media and it is one of the most accessible to people of all ages. Because of its structure, it is really easy to access all kinds of profiles and look up the lives and everyday activities that your friends, family or idols are up to. 

    This also led to the creation of many profiles that instead of posting about their lives started posting about many topics like movies, games, or just general information. That is why we think this platform will be really useful. Through our profile we will be able to share with the whole world interesting and up to date information about our system in an educational way and to teach people a little bit more about the system which we are part of and how it works.

    I actually think that the use of virtual learning communities is really effective and confortable. Nowadays, young people are always connected to social media, so it is a good way for them to learn new concepts and information in general as curious facts interactively and closely.
