Lesson XI

Lesson I

Navigation & Search

This first lesson is an introduction to the subject. To begin, there are explained some basic contents like the differences between Web, Internet, and page.

    * Internet: network of machinery that provide access to seeveral communication services.

    * Web: group of pages that contain different types of content.

    * Page: document which contains music, videos, texts...

Also, there is given an explanation of how different web browsers like FireFox, Chrome, Internet Explorer, Safari or Opera work. There are given some tips for a most accurate search in Google. They are the following ones:

    * The use of words like "and" or "or" for a most specific search, in which you can add various concepts.

    * The use of "site" for searching in a specific web.

    * The use of "-" before "site" for NOT searching in a specific web.

    * The use of "*" in place of a missing word or part of a word.

Another point of this first lesson is fake news, its types, how to identify it, and how to find articles and news that are true.

Finally, we moved to our first task: creating a Diigo account and learning how to use it, so it can be very useful for us when we do our group work. This task is explained in the post "1st Task〜Diigo". (You can find it scrolling down in the main page).
